I believe in living simply. Not rushing here or there, or filling the hours of every day with busyness. Dashing about to get nowhere. I love thrift shopping (who doesn't love a great deal?) and my love for vintage and antiques was instilled in me by my great-grandmother, Emma, for whom this blog and my online store is named.

Lacey's Garden
This year Lacey has begun her own vegetable garden. She (and her Dad) built a wooden fenced-in corral to keep the deer, raccoon, bunnies and other critters out.
Here are some of her bush green beans.....
She has two rows of peas growing up along the string that helps support the plants. They just started to bloom - we'll see if the fresh peas even make it into the house!
Here is one of her broccoli plants. I can't wait to enjoy some fresh-steamed broccoli!!
She also planted some carrots and beets!
Lace has been doing all of the planting, weeding, watering and tending herself....she is even in charge of composting household scraps for her garden, too. I can't wait to see (and taste!) the harvest of her hard work!
Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a blessed day!

Now there's just nothing like having your own personal gardener! The garden looks as if it's off to a great start, too, so I'm sure that it'll be no time before you are enjoying a harvest.
ReplyDeleteI am so jealous...someday I will have a very large backyard big enough for a huge garden. I bet Lacey will really enjoy working out there.
ReplyDeleteLove to you all,
Rob
That is great. I am now picking peas from our garden. I did the first batch Monday and there looks to be a lot more!
ReplyDeleteWe only started gardening a couple years ago and it is so very rewarding. I hope the Lord will bless the work of her hands.
