I believe in living simply. Not rushing here or there, or filling the hours of every day with busyness. Dashing about to get nowhere. I love thrift shopping (who doesn't love a great deal?) and my love for vintage and antiques was instilled in me by my great-grandmother, Emma, for whom this blog and my online store is named.

A Weekend Getaway....
Well, not for me. BUT, my husband and daughter did just return from a three day weekend in New Hampshire and Vermont. Why? Why not? It was an acknowledgement that summer has come to an end and they needed a little adventure before shutting the door on this season.
So, they headed up to New Hampshire and one of their first stops was at the Winnepesaukee Railroad in Meredith, New Hampshire. They enjoyed a two hour train ride along the shores of Lake Winnepesaukee. See here:
Next, they headed up to North Woodstock, NH to check out the Lost River Gorge and Boulder Caves. Looks like there was a lot of climbing involved:
Here they are in a cave:
After a couple of days in New Hampshire, they headed west to Vermont!
They stayed in Brattleboro where they took in a movie at a vintage movie theater.
They had a wonderful time and made some great father/daughter memories. I wish I could say that Geoff and I had some great mother/son memories but we were both busy with work and church activities. We did both indulge in some cheesecake, though ;o)
Thanks for stopping by!

A very special time for the two of them! It is vital that Dads and daughters bond. So happy to see your family making this a priority.
ReplyDeleteThe views from the train must have been amazing!
