New Year's Update

Our hero:

We had an unexpected snowstorm yesterday that brought about six to eight inches upon our roadways. When I left work around one I determined that the roads were just to bad to risk life and limb for the celebratory Chinese food. The hopes of my children were dashed. Their faces were forlorn. Shoulders were slumped and faces drooped.

Then, around 4 pm, our knight in a small blue pickup came home from work and declared that the roads were 'perfectly fine' for driving. The take-out menu was hastily located and a call for the pu pu platter was made! Hooray!!!

Lacey and I set about to preparing a buffet table down in the family room where we could all eat together without the sulky looks from the dog. Peter (our knight) and Geoff were off to collect dinner.

We all watched the Batman movie together. And, as predicted, the parents were asleep by 10 pm and the kids stayed up into the New Year.

Happy Day!

  1. And your awesome daughter shoveled the driveway twice so that you people could get in.

  2. LOL

    Horray for Peter!
    ...and Lacey too of course..!

  3. Too funny! Glad the New Year's Eve feast was saved.

What would we do without our heroes?! Peter and Lacey:-)
