A Wee Peek at my Garden.....

I'm not sure what this flower is called. A friend shared a few plants with me some years back. I love to watch the bees crawl up inside the bloom to get to the pollen.......

This is an apparently very happy hosta. I'm expecting some wonderful blooms from this! It has such a nice, full shape and it is right outside of our big picture window

.

Here is some ladies' mantle that my sister-in-law shared with me a long time ago.....I love the dainty, old-fashioned look it has.....

A pretty lavender rose that was a past Mother's day gift from Geoff and Lace. Isn't so pretty? It makes me think of black-raspberry ice cream....yum!

This is our grape arbor that we have in the way back of our yard. I planted the grapes the year after Lacey was born. I hope to get a lot of grapes this fall to make some jam! I love the smell of ripening grapes!

But wait! What's that I see?

Looking closely, I found this beautiful nest snuggled in amongst the grape leaves. There was a robin perched inside when I peeked.

And this is what I saw.....

Isn't is just beautiful? And we found two more nests nearby. One in our crab-apple tree and one in a juniper tree. I'm not sure if they all are robins....but I'm sure our yard will be full of peeping and chirping this summer!

Thanks for stopping by.....next I'll be sharing the hard work my daughter has been doing in her garden!

Have a blessed day!

  1. Lovely! I enjoy flowers so much. May I be jealous of your grapes? :) Lord willing, we'll have some strawberries to make jam with.

Our robins tend to hide their nests near the centers of the blue spruce. One nest was abandoned because of the mean grackles causing trouble. They nested elsewhere and were able to lay eggs and fledge their babies in peace.

  2. I love grape arbors. I keep saying we are going to make one and plant grapes...but I think I'll just have to keep dreaming.

  4. Beautiful color on that egg! Glad that you peeked inside. Your yard is lovely and I hope that you show us your grape arbor again when it's laden with fruit.
