Watching the Sky......

Well, we're in a mode of watching the sky. Hurricaine Earl has been predicted to swirl by us in southern Rhode Island sometime this evening. We've battened down the hatches, cleared the yard of anything that may become a projectile, and stocked up on bread, milk and toiler paper (it's how us New Englanders weather every storm).

I work in a bank and almost every customer I waited on today asked THE question: "Are you ready for it?" Some people are making their way to the beaches to see if the waves have swelled. We've seen plenty of boats leaving the marinas on their way back to Connecticut, Massachussetts, and New York. It's the talk of the town.

Right now the air is very warm and still. Is it the "calm before the storm"? We'll see. The forecasted weather for the long weekend is sunny and beautiful. That's what I'm looking forward to. A day of rest for this laborer. Enjoying a sunny day, eating some burgers, chips, and potato salad.

Hope you have a wonderful weekend, wherever you may be. Be blessed!

  1. Oh yes, and you, too. I think we're supposed to get it (whatever "it" is overnight). Perhaps I need to go check on the flowers or take things inside. Gee, I'm such a last minute kind of gal.
