A Little Creativity

A couple of weeks ago, my daughter and I both had a rare day off together. She had the spontaneous idea that we visit a paint-your-own potter studio I used to take her to when she was younger.

Here is Lacey's masterpiece:
What a nice planter! I can't wait to see what kind of plant she'll choose for it.

Now, here's what I painted:

I've never painted a spoon sleeping on a pillow before.......how do think I did? I'm not the artist of the family - that distinction belongs to my sis Robin aka bittersweetpunkin.

If you have a paint-your-own pottery studio in your area, I encourage you to check it out. It's a really fun place to be on a rainy, cold day OR go in and enjoy the air-conditioning on a really hot day.

When the kids were young, they used to paint plates and platters for their grandparents for Christmas gifts. It was also a nice way to commemorate a birthday or other special event.

Thanks for stopping by to visit.

Have a blessed day!

Liane

  1. ☺ It's a cute little spoon rest! Now your daughter's planter is simply lovely. I've seen folks doing this in Blogdom, but I'm not aware of any such place in my corner.

  2. I love them! Tell Lacey to plant a vegetable in there....get that garden going!
