Does this look like an engagement picture to you?

Well, that's because it is. This is a picture of my handsome, wonderful son, Geoff, and his beautiful fiancee, Carolina.

Carolina came up to Rhode Island from Puerto Rico this past weekend to join Geoff for a special youth conference in our area called "Awakening". They spent the entire weekend in worship, prayer, and seminars learning and growing in God's word - together.

Geoff is one-half of an awesome youth leadership team at our church. Sunday evening a baptismal service was held for a few youth who desired to be water-baptized. Carolina was one of them. Under the guidance of our lead pastor, we joyfully looked on as Geoff baptized Carolina. It was wonderful.

After the service, we all went out to dinner as a family. Getting home very late, Geoff confided to me that he wished to propose to Carolina, but he wanted me and his dad and sister to be present when he did.

I can't describe the joy that filled my heart as I saw the deep love on each of their faces. Such truth. Such sincerity. Such commitment.

She, of course, said yes (yay!!). No date has been set yet. They have been in a very long distance relationship for the past year and a half and can't wait to begin a new life together.

So exciting!!!

Please keep them in your prayers and .... rejoice with us!

Blessings,

Liane

  1. Thank you, Mom! :)

It meant so much to have you all there with us. Also the food was awesome too. We should go back there again this weekend or something. Seriously.
